North Carolina
Voter Photo ID Requirement
All North Carolina voters need to show a photo ID when they check in to vote. If you vote by mail, also known as absentee voting, you’ll need to include a photocopy of an acceptable photo ID when returning your ballot.
If you don’t have an acceptable photo ID, you can get a FREE photo ID at your County Board of Elections. You can also get a state ID card for free at your local DMV.
